Remember, just last year, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague ruled that a “clean, healthy and sustainable environment” is a human right and that insufficient climate action violate international law. The courts are therefore very much the right place to resolve claims of harm from climate change. And if the government of New Zealand tries to stop that, then maybe they themselves should be the target of a climate litigation.
